South Africa - Water Crisis

South Africa is experiencing severe drought and water shortages have affected many regions. Animals are dying, farmers are suffering and restrictions have affected many households. It is a national crisis and reading the news headlines from various newspapers tell the story.

The public has been alerted to the extreme weather conditions.

Food production is now critical as farmers battle the drought. The government will have to import food.
Taps run dry in parts of Joburg, water tankers dispatched.
I believe that the crisis is real and that the media would not publish a story without checking the facts.

The crisis is real and the council have applied restrictions.

Information for assisting the public about the drought conditions.

Water tankers stolen in Joburg
Only in South Africa, thieves steal anything and this time the water tankers. I would imagine it would be their plan to sell the water to desperate people.

Joburg water situation not a crisis - Gordhan
This is the joke, typical of government to downplay any critical situation in South Africa.

I guess, we do have a water crisis, restrictions have been applied and the government will tell the people that they have everything under control. It is South Africa, and it is the same old story, the government will lie to the people.
