South Africa Social Media Twits

Twits on social media are causing upheaval by posting the controversial and sensitive slogan.

Kill the Boer, Kill the farmer# one-settler one bullet, one bullet one settler.

In my opinion, it is inciting racial hatred and a deep desire to stir up dissension. People who cannot let go of the past and move forward. The song “Kill the Boer” was sung by the president of the African National Congress (ANC) Jacob Zuma, Julius Malema and others who have considered that there was nothing wrong with the words, it's just a chant, a song.
Using a platform and chanting those words to millions of uneducated, frustrated and often disillusioned people is dangerous. There are a history and many documented articles regarding “Kill the Boer” song. Court cases and apologies, however, this constitutes Hate Speech.
My question regarding the renewal of chanting this slogan, is whether the people, including leaders, use this to cover up the critical problems and failure to address the pressing issues of corruption, crime, failing education and medical infrastructures.  It is obvious that the hatred can be attributed to a racial basis, and politicians or populists alike will exploit these sensitive issues for their own ends.
South Africans are generally not stupid people yet open to manipulation. The majority have a staunch support of the ANC organisation yet would support any organisation that held their objections at heart. Right now it is the ANC that holds the objectives of the people and even though Malema joins the manipulation, trying to exploit the crowds, it is the sensitive ones who do not stop the unnecessary hate speech. Rather they sing along, agreeing that there is a need for change, not necessarily agreeing with the chant. It is by stopping the song completely that more credence is given to Malema and ilk who would probably say, “see they are still stuck in the past.”
If the ANC, Malema and others claim a right to sing this song based on the history and heritage, then I would like to know why they are in the process of destroying our history and heritage with name changes, and pulling down of statues. I believe the Afrikaans people do not find the song, hurtful, but rather find the song as a matter of incitement to commit violence against the Afrikaner.

Here are some of the replies posted regarding the “Kill the Boer” thread and I have no doubt that the person who started this propaganda will receive many more responses. In particular, I find response number 22 amusing. (Replies unedited)
  1. Terrorism...that's dangerous
  2. Hosi hosi
  3. Boys boys
  4. Salute to that!!!!
  5. We need stability and peace and prosperity.... your post is Dangerous to these things
  6. If that is true, we don't want to be another Syria. If the war of African people and Boere in Rsa issues it will be of mammoth proportions... bigger than jihad... it will be the holy of holiest wars...I would rather see not.
  7. What's wrong with you brain chief. What did the Boer do to you that making you go around preaching "kill the boer, kill the farmer?" will that save you a FORTUNE or will only add more MISERY to you already? "CONFUSED box" of confusion? Why not just FACE them and explain to them, maybe with not much options on their defensive side, HOW YOU gonna turn things around, than PROMISING them DEATH? I do STRONGLY believe the very same strategy their forefathers USED against our forefathers to rob them is EXACTLY the same strategy WE need to "REFLECT BACK" to them with.  BUT this time with a totally DIFFERENT VISSION to theirs........LEARN how to welcome and live with the Boers in a new democratic AZANIA, vice visa on them too, they NEED to adopt and respect how the people of this COUNTRY wish for their country....believe me not, we all going to REJOICE IN HARMONY once we start realising this...STOP THE FIGHTING AND THE CONFUSSIONING OF THE PEOPLE
  8. Idiot
  9. I salute u Azania kill the Boer kill the farmer that ppl are so annoying nxa thy JC deserve to die thy don't know hw to treat us black ppl still have apartheid Viva Azania viva AAAA!!!!!!!!
  10. It's quite annoying that black people will preach war against an organised enemy...u all r not ready for war.N a war both sides suffer pain and loss and there's no peace nor winner." Be constructive not destructive.
  11. Not afraid of war u strife me u strife the rock to hell with boers
  12. There is no basis for that chant in the year 2015 it was a Apla aka poqo chant that was a reactionary armed-force reaction to the mass murder of the people of Azania (Zuid - Afrika) by the oppressive government of the Boer settler. Even the great Prof Mangaliso Sobukwe was initially opposed to that reality, but there was no other way as the boers would rather shoot people for protesting peacefully without their dom-pass outside a police station. It can't be that you post such when you have political freedom useless it may be (if not used wisely) you still have it, being a war monger is really not going to help rather use your data for educating on Pan-Africanism to effect policy change... This thing of ''one settler one bullet''? Bullshit you probably butt kiss your Caucasian co-workers but on Facebook you calling for their demise you must liberate yourself from far-fetched ideas
  13. People think it's easy. Having a gun doesn't guarantee victory. We r civilians, not self-proclaimed soldiers.
  14. To whoever is busy trying nor do "PREACH WAR IN SOUTH AFRIKA" listen here: SOUTH AFRIKA is not for the FAINT "HTD" BITCHES like you DO........anyone having a PROBLEM with the way SOUTH AFRIKA is busy TRYING to uplift HERSELF must just GO and HANG THEMSELVZ, simple as ABC...
  15. Stupidity is the faint hearted leo..its not easy to kill as a revived person, and it's not easy bearing death on ur shoulders. You r no different from those that call us atheist and will see betrayal as if you r commanding troop. You r a couch nigger blowing steam in the mist...narrow minded cos you "I believe" can't remedy consciousness on your own mother and frustrated to others because of your own worthless self and vent garbage in promoting war. Have u ever child with real soldiers from the era of machine, Tambo, hani etc...ull see that war is not the answer.
  16. I wonder if there are people like this in real life, this must be somebody who has been In comma for 20years.Congrats bru you are back to life n I hope his friends explain to him what is happening now.
  17. Real killers do not advertise their plans to kill. They surprise their victims’ better arrest your foolish advert.
  18. The guns are recovered from bank robbers...Azania does not possess one...lmao
  19. tru dat amen comrades
  20. Some fucker’s r stupid.
  21. How you relate to what I posted here should be NONE OF MY BUSINESS as I don't remember myself proclaiming any kind of you so called war on this page to be carried on or against anyone. But your SELF SERVING STUPIDISHNESS I suspect is the ONE you should be worrying more about at the moment. As it really PROVES your level of CONFUSION chief...trying to judge every statement you fail to relate is too DANGEROUS for you brain capacity, Sir.
  22. We have to learn to work hard and smart first, understand the sense of community then the white man will leave voluntarily. Ask Asians Japanese and Chinese in particular.

'Kill the Boer': a brief history   29 Mar 2010 08:54 (South Africa)

A judge has ruled that the phrase “shoot the boer” amounts to hate speech, and so it is now illegal to chant the song. The ANC, who complained that the judge did not approach them for historical context, may take the case on appeal? Of course, there is a context to the song that the ANC is not admitting.
