Human Trafficking 32 Victims Saved in Kuwait

Another successful operation completed when 32 Zimbabwean women were rescued and are safely home after being enticed into a human trafficking con. A network of criminals lured over 200 women from Zimbabwe in a human trafficking sting. The criminals arranged visas and paid for their air tickets. Criminals involved in this horrible human trafficking event were linked to the staff of the Kuwait Embassy of Zimbabwe, and more than eight staff members have been arrested. Adult female workers are vulnerable and often are victims of forced prostitution and sexual exploitation.

The women expecting to be employed in Kuwait were forced into sex work and domestic labor by Arab men. It was the beginning of a nightmare for these women who were beaten and denied food. Passports and cell phones were confiscated. The evil sadist and cruel men violated the human rights order. It is believed that some of the women were detained by the police and a few managed to escape and sort out shelter in the Zimbabwean embassy.

Human rights for women is denied in Kuwait, and there are no laws prohibiting domestic violence, marital rape or sexual harassment, according to a Human Rights Watch report. Women, men, and children are not safe from Human traffickers who take advantage of people living in developing countries like Zimbabwe. A fast grown global crime and considered a complex operation with many secrets, human traffickers expand their targets for greed.Kuwait is a transit and destination country for human trafficking, forcing humans into sexual exploitation. The government of Kuwait has made little or no effort to prevent trafficking and public awareness campaigns do not exist. Neither does the government of Kuwait comply with the minimum standards for eliminating trafficking.

The Human Trafficking Task Force (South Africa) exists to expose human trafficking through awareness promoting, rescue efforts and victim assistance. Human trafficking is modern day slavery.

415 Perpetrators Arrested Last Week

Operation Combat Team and the Nyanga Cluster Policing members arrested more than 415 perpetrators of various crimes during the past week in their precinct.

Six firearms and various amounts of ammunition and various kinds of drugs were confiscated, as well as liquor sold without licenses.

Other suspects were apprehended for various serious and violent crimes ranging from murder, house robbery, attempted murder, intimidation, theft of and possession of stolen vehicle, business robbery, housebreaking, contravening of court order and theft. A 65-year-old man was arrested for the rape of a ten year old in Manenenberg.Suspects appeared, and some will appear in Athlone, Bishop Lavis and Wynberg Magistrate Courts as well Fezeka Community Court.

Kidnapping Suspect Arrested in Durban

Durban Hostage negotiators, Provincial Tracking Task Team, Special Task Force and Empangeni detectives arrested a 39-year-old suspect for kidnapping. The suspect was arrested at V section, Umlazi after the members followed up information about his whereabouts yesterday, 30 April 2016. 

The arrested suspect will appear in the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 3 May 2016.

Empangeni detectives worked tirelessly searching for the child, and information was received about his whereabouts at Umlazi area. An operation consisting of Durban Hostage negotiators, Provincial Tracking Task Team, Special Task Force and Empangeni detectives was conducted that led to the arrest at Umlazi area yesterday. The child was found unharmed and was reunited with his mother while the suspect was charged with kidnapping.
