Diet Programs do not Result in Long-term Success

Diet programs do not result in long-term success
A recent survey concluded that commercial diet programs do not result in long-term success. It is all false claims.
The gigantic diet industry advertises new products on a regular basis. Open up a newspaper, magazine, or browse the internet, advertisements publicizing some new diet product, a magic diet pill, or slimming tea, will guarantee the loss of excess weight, effortlessly and permanently. It is all hype; billions of dollars are spent annually on diet programs and products. The survey concluded that the majority of people using an advertised diet program or products do lose some weight, but almost all regain the lost weight over less time than the time spent losing it.

When we realize that we are overweight, we are inclined to reduce our food intake, skip meals, and eat smaller portions of food. We think by doing so our body will burn off excess fat, but it is not true. Eating less can make losing weight more difficult.

We need to consider the human body took shape millions of years ago and at that time diets were nonexistent. Starvation was the diet that existed. The people of that era learned to live with lesser quantities of food. It was the people who managed to control their food intake that survived. The structure of our human bodies has developed a method to ensure we survive with a reduced food intake.

A recent research study done between overwieight and thin people, confirmed they ate the same number of calories, but it was the amount of fat eaten that triggered the weight gain. It was concluded during the research that thin people tend to eat less fat and more compound carbohydrates or fiber. Perhaps that is the key to a successful weight loss program.

We need to remember that losing weight is not an overnight occurrence. Common sense and sensible guidelines need to be planned, and carefully considered before implementing a diet program or plan. Millions of desperate people are misinformed and easily fleeced of their money by diet programs or plans claiming to be the ultimate tried and tested one.

Obesity we must remember is not only caused from incorrect eating habits, there is a possibility that serious overweight is the cause of an illness or serious health problem. An excessive calorie intake will turn the excess into saturated fat and that is the cause of the weight gain.

The amount of calories consumed is considered to be the cause of excess weight. Yet it is not the calorie count that causes obesity in America today. Americans consume fewer calories each day than they did at the beginning of the century. Consider this – if calories alone were the cause of excessive weight gain, we would all be thin. We are not all thin, we are overweight. The American diet has dramatically changed over the years, we are more inactive, and that is the actual cause of the increase in obesity.

Dieting without exercise will generally lead to weight gain over time. Initially you will experience a decline in your weight while dieting, and that weight loss consists only of water and muscle. When the weight returns, it comes back as fat. Your metabolism must be increased and therefore exercise combined with a healthy eating plan is the only real way to lose weight permanently.

Long-term diets do not work; instead choose a healthier eating plan, implement a three meal per day eating plan, and try to avoid snacking in between. If you do snack, do so with healthier goodies such as fruit or nuts. Implement an exercise routine that you can maintain, and consider walking more often, as this is the easiest exercise for controlling your weight, toning your muscles, and strengthening your bones.

No, diet programs do not result in long-term successful weight loss, but a change in lifestyle will.

Color makes little or no difference towards a winning attitude.

In South Africa, there are a lot of people who are not white, that seem to have a grudge against whites in general. There are many who say and keep on saying that whites owe them something. There are a few who do not like what they call white attitudes or “whiteness”.

There is nothing wrong with whiteness or blackness, it is the double standards that are problematic. Many believe they are victims while enjoying first world standards. It is all hypocrisy entitlement and negativity. Color makes little or no difference towards a winning attitude.

There are the white people who find the “whiteness” in blacks that make it harder to bear. Not being partial or prejudice all races have done favors for one another, yet the stigma of being given a favor is blown out of proportion. It’s the attitude based on color. It is the cry of not being free. Although apartheid has ended, Africans still do not have land and bear a deep grudge over land reform.
Although a lot of blacks have land in the tribal areas, including black townships. The policy of the government is to build skyscrapers as part of the densification of settlements aimed at saving land and not giving land to people who won't use it profitably.

South Africans attitude toward race determines the behavior and how to present one to others. If the people showed values, then we will not see the color.

It would be naïve to think that "race" does not count, as we do not see a predominantly black township with a majority "white" population. Most people who are non-white come from horizontal cultures and prejudice wasn't fed to them as children, but whites have that particular problem which only they can help themselves. It’s useless wasting energy on "hating" people

The problem and barrier to cross-cultural understanding are having stereotypes, which are mostly based on ignorance, fear, prejudice and competition over wealth. I guess one cannot like everybody, but dislike must be based on fault, not biological attributes

Whites are too few to be found everywhere in South Africa. Due to social privilege and culture, they don't stay in poor majority townships. The dirt poor whites are found in working class urban areas

Is the disintegration of Afrikaner nationalism and the laager mentality due to whites feeling free in a democratic society where human rights guarantee a place in the sun for everybody regardless of the color of their skin? Yes.... because the Afrikaner can choose to be unshackled from the sins of the fathers. The Afrikaner does not have to have the same attitudes of those that have gone before us. That's why they call earth 'The Planet of Choice.'

Black brothers and sisters who mostly hate whites are stuck on point and whites do not recognize that someone is busy doing nothing but hating them. It would be better if their hatred toward whites were progressing and thriving. However, they suffer the most because they cannot play a smart game with the calm and collected white race.

In the past whites voted for a government that enacted laws to oppress, exploit, dispossess, give blacks inferior education, and comparatively weak standards of life. Therefore, the "grudge" the black people have might have something to do with remembering the past, which affects them today. By focusing on the history, the black people carry the burden of hatred and prejudice, instead of working on a future.

Could it be that blacks do not grudge whites but rather an inequality, injustice, discrimination, prejudice, gender bias and racism? The effects and impact of one or all of these classify people into rich and poor, educated and illiterate. This in turn forces people to examine how they got to where they are today. Some blame apartheid, and hence the privileged ones that caused them to be too oppressed. Some blame race. While others rise above the past and live with the racial inferiority that was forced upon them. It is a mental attitude that must be changed.

It is more respectful to not judge people by skin color, rather take a decision based on the content of character. But it is true that based on the history of South Africa of over 300 years of black domination by whites there existed and still exists a psychology of white supremacy.

The entire legal framework of SA is founded on corruption and development is far from normal as colonial patterns of social structures are still perpetuated. For South Africa to build a better society, the White Supremacist system must be dismantled. Otherwise, it's like driving a stolen car and painting it another color hoping that the criminality will just evaporate. The less we pretend to be normal the faster South Africa will arrive at tangible solutions instead of wishing them away

Whites are blamed for all ills, both past and current. Also, if anything is disliked, it is because it's 'white' or 'western'. Yet those same people just love European cars, and watches, and champagne, and berets!

White supremacy is a state of mind. Progressive nations have overcome it.

The African child is taught to be a tool within a European economy and social structure and it does not get more White Supremacist than that. The Xhosa-speaking child is forced to learn the English language while the English population in South Africa is less than 10%. Otherwise, that child will not function in this current society of White Supremacy
T of inferior complex.

That power of White Supremacy is the inferiority complex among those that are the capital of capitalism

The race is a western invention. If race still determines how any person navigates through South Africa, it's simply naive to ignore the fact that Africans are yet to be in control of their own society. As the need to shape life according to the former colonizer still exists and no rainbows will take that away until South Africa deals with the superstructure of a racialised society. The onus rests on the children of the barbaric colonizer to show their humanity by acculturating themselves into African society as this is Africa where the majority are Africans, which have never expressed a need to dominate anyone culturally or economically. White Supremacy is a SYSTEM and racism are just a single manifestation out of many

You only need to take a walk in a predominantly black or white community to appreciate the past has not passed.

Some among us are drunk on the "rainbow nation" myth yet the entire social structure of South Africa remains as it was in 1960 with minor differences among the chattering classes.Colonization and Apartheid were not just systems of "hate" on Africans but systems of economic and cultural control by an extreme minority in a wealthy SA

I think the Rainbow Nation is working in favor of the majority. It is not perfect, but racial relations have improved largely that South Africa will never return the to the apartheid era. Big businesses, which were wholly white at all levels of employment, are almost entirely black at the coalface. The face of sectors such as banks, insurance, hotels, restaurants, newspapers, BPO, and consulting, etc. is black, where only 15 years ago it was the preserve of white faces. Middle management is, I hear, still stubbornly white, but the racial barriers are crumbling due to pressure from blacks and white senior managers themselves. There, I am the eternal optimist

The truth is the majority of people are unhappy with the situation of inequality. That's why Julius Malema of all the people is able to garner so much support regardless of his record of accomplishment.

Someday we will have to discuss the racism of racialism. Racism being hatred towards other racial grouping and racialism, as in racialist, being an affinity towards one's race group. Guess it is time to come out the closet, especially those who believe in humanity; the very essence of being human and humane

From Taxi Wars to Minister of Transport

Another concern from a farmer in South Africa, referring to the corruption and greed of government officials.
What I say here is just the tip of the iceberg. It needs more investigation.
During the time of Chaka, the Zulu king, Mzilikazi "the young general tried to keep some loot for himself instead of presenting all to Chaka".

Mzilikasi ended in Rhodesia. These are the Matabeles or Ndebeles.
I am not sure where the original stock comes from.
Anyway, during the 1980s violence erupted in the area between Greytown and Stanger. Stanger was where Chaka's Kraal was.

This war was not between IFP and UDF; it was between rival taxi groups.

It is from this area where all taxi routes across South Africa are controlled. Even those in the Cape came to this area to sort out problems gunning rivals down.

Sbu Ndebele was a car cleaner at a White owned garage in Durban. He got involved with taxi wars, and a price was put on his head. He bought a farm 5km from my farm outside Pietermaritzburg. This he did with the help of his White friends so he could get away from the Durban trouble spot.

He rose to be Minister of Roads and Transport after 1994. He was the "right person for the right job". He now was in total control. In the high office.
It was the years 1985 to 1995 that Toyota approached Sbu Ndebele to sell fleets of mini buses to South Africa.

Since 2000, the recapitalization program came into effect selling more fleets to the taxi industry.

Since his roots were in defrauding the authority and then taking the goods ands running with them. It was he who encouraged those in municipalities to take funds out of the treasury and buy privately owned vehicles then ride around the country in style. At the same time he got his slice of the takings, the rest paid to Toyota. That is how one makes money.

Now comes the other tsunami.

Coming from Japan, where Toyotas are made, a certain Schaffel (American business person) is promoting Social Business, using Social Media, as the media to take over business matters.

Twitter, Mobile Commerce, Facebook and Instagram will now be the new media to do business and the Ndebele in the van making profits.
(There are consequences not doing business this way said Scheffel)

How many municipalities are bankrupt as of October 2015?
Those that paid Land Rates will not get a cent of benefit. It has all gone. Gone for good as they gave it all away.

Those in the know since 1980 will take away the rest of the country using social media.
Go to those meetings addressed by motivational and emotional speakers, and who comes back the wiser and richer?

Compassion is NOT the word when you lose it all.

Enough said, go and do your research.
