Whites are like dying donkeys in its last kicks and throngs of
death. There are too many white South Africans who are not willing to
accept that your days in this country have long ended. Said the man who
is willing to defend President Jacob Zuma. Once the National Prosecuting
Authority (NPA) decide to prosecute after the North Gauteng High Court
found that the withdrawal of 783 charges was irrational. Remarks of this
nature border on hate speech.
Schabir Shaik was granted medical parole due to a terminal illness
after serving 28 months of a 15-year jail sentence. Shaik was convicted
of fraud and corruption relating to the controversial arms deal. Shaik
believes that there is a planned strategy to discredit both the
president and himself. Should Zuma have a day in court Shaik will
testify and tell the truth so that South Africa can hear the truth?
Shaik said he never benefited from his relationship with Zuma.
It is all flattering to know that Zuma has an ally and since Shaik is
still on medical parole that might be removed once the court hearing is
closed. However, Shaik, who played an active role in the liberation of
apartheid and forged close ties with the African National Congress (ANC)
without material gain. Shaik said the bitter struggle years were for
fighting racist apartheid South Africa. A system that white parents,
grandparents and other family members openly supported. A system of
privilege and all whites thrived on.
White South Africans are dying donkeys and as long as the ANC and
allies continue to make remarks that eject hatred, spells doom for the
minority. It is known that the white minority are being alienated by the
Black Economic Empowerment laws. It is a tragedy that the rainbow
nation has lost its colorful radiance. In 1994 it might have appeared
that South Africa was for all who lived in it but now, the minority
referred to “dying donkeys” are at the end of the journey. Whatever the
end date of the voyage was for whites, only Shaik will know.
