Stillness Reflection Spark

Take five minutes today to sit in silence.

No phone. No noise. No fixing. Just being.

At first, you’ll hear sounds — the room, the world, your breath.
Then you’ll hear your thoughts.
And if you stay a little longer, you may hear something deeper: stillness.

Notice what you feel.
Tension you didn’t realize you were holding.
Emotions you haven’t had space for.
Or a calm you forgot was possible.

Silence doesn’t create these things — it reveals them.

And notice what you learn:
That your thoughts come and go.
That you are not your thoughts — you are the one noticing them.
That peace isn’t something you find outside — it’s something you uncover within.

So take five minutes. Sit in silence. And listen — not just to the world, but to yourself.

Remembering a young departed soul

During the 1980s, there was an unusual death by drowning in a suburb of Johannesburg.

The young fellow known as Norman Oneale was 16 years old and went camping for the weekend with a friend.  However, they were not even at the Wemmerpan Dam for more than a day, when the incident occurred.  The newspapers got it wrong, his name, and the fact that he was an excellent swimmer, so the drowning, in my opinion, was an accident that never was investigated thoroughly.

Although it was winter and I can imagine the water was freezing, I think he was pushed in and did not die from drowning but a heart attack. When pushed into the icy water, his body probably went into shock from the cold, and he was unable to get out and "his friend" did not even help.

I do know that there was no postmortem done to determine the actual cause of death, and so we lost another wonderful young person.

Rest in peace always, young Norman.

Dirt Everywhere

The above photo was taken this week.   It's a street in the South of Johannesburg.   Dirt everywhere.  Such a pity, people like to litter and have no respect for the environment.

While this is only one street, the whole of the south of Johannesburg is like a dumping ground.  Each year the problem escalates and nothing much is done to educate the people about the health hazards, and so forth.   It's like nobody cares.

I remember before 1994 how clean each suburb was kept.  The government cared, the council cared, and people cared.  It was a pleasure to live in such a clean, well cared for country.

And as the years progressed, the litter problem escalated. Yet today, nobody cares.  If one complains to the government departments, the requests are ignored, so many don't even try to get help, simply because they know there will be no response.

I can only imagine what the state of the suburbs will be like in 10 years time, unless intervention is done by a government who actually delivers.

🔥Fear Shock and Heartbreak as home destroyed by fire🔥

🚨 URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP 🚨

Earlier today, a tragic electrical fire ripped through a home in Mayfield Park, south of Johannesburg, leaving a family of four with absolutely nothing. In a matter of minutes, their home and all their belongings were reduced to ashes.

The fear, shock, and heartbreak they experienced watching everything they owned burn is unimaginable. Emergency services arrived only after severe damage had been done, and sadly, nothing could be salvaged. This family is now completely destitute and in urgent need of support.

At CLR Foundation, we are often called upon in moments of crisis—and today, this devastated family has reached out to us for help. Now, we are calling on you to help too.

🙏 Please consider donating to assist this family during this tragic time.

So much suffering, so great a need

Sonskuin, Pretoria - feeding the poor

We at CLR foundation support a lot of informal settlements (that's the new name for a squatter camp) and in particular we support one in Pretoria that is home to over 50 WHITE people, who have nothing and live from day to day.  There are no job opportunities, to many laws excluding white people from obtaining employment.   It is the reality of what is happening in South Africa, it is an ongoing problem and no solution in sight.  These people cannot go to the USA, they do not have money to travel, their most urgent need is to stay alive.

Besides helping this informal settlement, we are also assisting with the Makause Informal settlement, hoping to bring a little bit of joy.

I received this WhatsApp message today from Sonskuin, Pretoria "Hi family and friend, please I'm asking for any donation for our Xmas food project, help feed someone, anything is most welcome thank u so much 🙏🌹🙏

Sonskuin Pretoria, helping the needy

Any food is also most welcome"

So now I ask our readers to ponder the plight of millions of people who have nothing, not even a slice of bread, to consider donating to this cause.   You can donate directly on our website CLR FOUNDATION WEBSITE LINK  or contact us on WhatsApp +27 0620783767

Thanking you for your kindness and generosity.   God bless you all.
