THE DONKEY
There was a donkey who fell into an
empty pit hole. The donkey was sad and for hours, he cried. The farmer wondered how he would get the
beast out of the pit and eventually decided that it was not worth it. After all, he thought the donkey was old and
would eventually have to be replaced.
He called all his neighbors and asked
them to come and help. With their shovels,
they began to take sand and mud and throw it into
the well. The donkey realized what was
happening and started to cry even louder.
To everyone's surprise, the donkey
suddenly stopped crying. The farmer
threw some more sand and mud into the pit and decided to look down to see what
was happening. He was amazed at what he saw, for each shovel of mud that fell onto
the donkey he managed to climb up with
each shovel of dirt and making a platform for himself, he stepped over the edge
and galloped away.
The lesson learned here is to remember:
Life is sometimes like mud with all sorts of dirt thrown at us.
The trick is to shake it off and take a
step to overcome.
Each of our concerns is a step. We can
draw from the depths and try never to give up.
Shake it off and take a step up.
