Trouble Brewing for Jacob Zuma

South Africans are not happy with the apology from President Jacob Zuma. Zuma violated the Constitution and an apology is not acceptable. The African National Congress (ANC) support the president and according to the ruling party, its business as usual.
Trouble is brewing and South Africa over the president's apology and the people expected him to step down. Now the South African National Defense Union is calling for his removal from office.  The Opposition party the Democratic Alliance (DA) are starting a procedure to have Zuma impeached.

SANDU supports any call for mass action and any other lawful means to remove President Zuma from office – THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE UNION

MEDIA STATEMENT BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE UNION (SANDU) IN REACTION TO THE 31 MARCH 2016 RULING BY THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT REGARDING VIOLATION OF THE SA CONSTITUTION BY PRESIDENT ZUMA AND PARLIAMENT

SANDU has taken note of the finding by the Constitutional Court inter alia judging President Zuma and the parliament of SA as being in violation of their constitutional duties in the Nkandla matter.
It is in SANDU’s opinion absolutely despicable that the President, as Commander in Chief of the SANDF, has transgressed the very Constitution which the Defence Force over which he holds command, is constitutionally charged with upholding.
It is equally rejectionable that parliament, which is charged with overseeing that the SANDF upholds the Constitution, has aided and abetted the President in this unlawful deed which represents a complete sell out of the values of a constitutional democracy.
Given the ruling made, the President can no longer be considered a fit and proper person to remain the Commander in Chief of the SANDF, nor can any of the parliamentary members who so stubbornly protected him in his questionable endevours against the Public Protector’s findings, be considered fit and proper persons to hold office as members of parliament.
Any reliance on the excuse of so called bad legal advice is without any credibility especially as the same people who in the Nkandla matter accepted the bad advice that the PP findings are non- binding, in many other matters implemented the PP’s findings as if bounded thereby. These are also the same people, who, for 2 years were told publicly by various legal experts that their advice and stance was unlawful and wrong in law in the Nkandla matter and then went even further to back a embarresingly false and fraudulent report.
How can those with unconstitutional dirt on their hands be expected to further oversee and or command the SANDF with integrity or any inkling of moral standing?
SANDU, in the circumstances, calls on the Commander in Chief to be removed from his post and the parliamentary members to resign. SANDU supports any call for mass action and any other lawful means to remove President Zuma from office. This is not a political stance, but a moral and constitutional stance in support of our constitutional democratic values of the rule of law.
SANDU encourages all members of society, including soldiers to participate in their private capacity and time in any lawful mass action campaigns which might be called to the end of lawfully recalling and or removing President Zuma from office.

South Africa Oil Dumping an Environmental Disaster

South Africa
How important is the environment in South Africa and is there a disaster looming from illegal oil dumping? Many questions remain unanswered or perhaps censored by companies who do not comply with regulations. According to the waste management legislation in South Africa, the disposal of hazardous waste into landfill is prohibited. Used oil is defined as hazardous waste.

Dumping used oil into the ground causes the soil and groundwater to become toxic and contaminated. Many mining companies dispose of hazardous waste illegally by dumping into the ground, instead of following correct procedures. When oil is dumped into the ground, it will penetrate further into the ground over time until it ends up in the water supply. While the oil seeps through the ground, it will kill any plants and animal life it comes into contact with. Dumping oil in the ground contributes to killing the earth, the environment, animals, fish, birds, and ultimately, humans. Future generations will be affected, and it could take up to 165 years of heavy rainfall for the contaminated ground to be safe again.
South Africa
Some concerned people will report incidents of illegal dumping of waste oil. Concerned workers or nearby residents are ultimately responsible for the government to intervene and close down mines or companies who do not comply with legislation. What happens when an incident is reported, and no action is taken, does this mean that there is corruption, and bribery infiltrating the system. Do mining companies resort to bribes and avoid hefty fines or possible closures? The answer is unknown, but one can assume that because of the current high corruption and fraud statistics intensifying around South Africa, it is possible.

Illegal dumping of oil, grease, and diesel appeared to be a normal activity at the Nkomati Mine, situated near Machadodorp in Mpumalanga. A practice that continued for an extended period, and without any repercussions. When staff raised concerns, the doubts were quickly dispelled followed by dismissals.

Jacob Zuma at the End of the Road?

Jacob Zuma
Jacob Zuma, the president of South Africa, has now reached the end of the road and should step down in light of the recent Con-court ruling. The constitution court found the president had acted unlawfully by ignoring the remedial actions of the public protector’s report on Nkandla. It is a remarkable day for South Africa and Democracy as the president has been ordered to pay back the money.

The ruling African National Congress (ANC) party has issued a statement regarding the findings of the Con-court and will meet to discuss the appropriate action needed. South Africa now waits for the ANC to make a decision on whether Zuma will be recalled, or if the president will continue to serve as president. Support for the president is being garnered and the ANC Women’s League has announced it had “confidence in the nation’s development under his leadership.” The ANCWL’s support for the president is touching and the blindness of how the country has degenerated under the Zuma leadership boggles the mind.

While the debate on whether to remove Zuma or ignore the Con-court ruling is underway, the president and ANC should refer to the speech made on Sept. 22, 2008, when Thabo Mbeki was recalled. The following excerpts are from this speech announced in 2008:

“The decision to recall him was not taken lightly, but it had to be taken in the interests of making the country move forward. The country needs a strong and united ruling party at the helm of government, capable of galvanizing support for the government’s development agenda.

“As the ruling party, we need to sustain the confidence of our people in the ANC and its government. Once this level of confidence is weakened, the ANC has no alternative but to take action…”
“When we met with President Thabo Mbeki on Friday morning, ahead of the NEC discussion, he said that as a disciplined cadre of the movement he would readily accept and abide by any decision of the organization and subject himself to its wishes.”

“The ANC prides itself on having leaders who rise to the occasion, who put the organisation and the country first, no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.”

The 2008 speech by the president and ANC reflect the courageous and honest intentions of both authorities. Under the leadership of Zuma, South Africa has descended into chaos. The economy is a major concern, crime is rising, corruption is a new norm, and potential state capture by individuals is an emerging threat. Constructive criticism is snubbed and the ANC remain defensive, lacking honesty, and integrity.................................................

UPDATE -
JACOB ZUMA AND THE ANC HAVE DECIDED TO CONTINUE AS BEFORE, THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE AND ZUMA WILL REMAIN AS PRESIDENT.......... (HAHAHAHHA we suspected that integrity was not part of the deal) THE OPPOSITION PARTIES WILL MOVE TO HAVE ZUMA IMPEACHED.

Sliding into an old argument

I found this image, and there is a story behind the remarks.

South Africans are moving into an old argument. The never-ending land issue reforms that take forever to settle.  “We want the stolen land back” the masses shout.  Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), started the “Give back the land” claim.

Now that the Concourt has ruled against President Jacob Zuma, and ordered him to pay back the money, somebody wants to know why it does not rule for the millions of oppressed black people.  I wonder why?

The Axe Gang

A new gang dubbed the “the Axe Gang” are lurking the streets of Johannesburg. Targeting the elderly and harming them with their dangerous axes.  It is a gang who want to steal items such as cell phones, and laptops as these are easy to dispose of and  cash.  The elderly are targeted as they are vulnerable.  It is South Africa and crime is on the rise.

Residents warned about axe gang
BLAIRGOWRIE – Residents are warned about the axe gang who targets elderly residents. Police warn residents not to investigate noises at night.
The Blairgowrie Community association (BCA) is warning residents from Blairgowrie and surrounding areas of a robbery trend involving an axe gang who are targeting elderly residents.
Brian Price from the BCA said that there have been five attacks recently where elderly residents have been the target of the attacks.
“We have dubbed this gang the ‘axe gang’ because they carry an axe and use this to harm the elderly residents. We want to warn the residents because we want to ensure that everybody is safe in our neighborhoods,” he said.
Price pointed out that the modus operandi that the gang used was to make a noise outside which lured the residents outside to investigate and that is when they are pounced upon.
“The axe gang members are usually looking for things they can take quickly such as laptops, cell phones, and cash,” he added.
Captain Alex Vermaak from the Linden Police Station said that it appeared as though the perpetrators had a good knowledge of the area or lived in the vicinity and that at this stage they were targeting elderly residents who were more vulnerable.
“It is very important that residents should not investigate a possible situation but should rather call and wait for help. If a noise is heard at night press your panic button, call the police or your security service provider,” he said.
  • Neighbourhood grapevine – Please alert all the neighbors about the axe gang
  • Buddy System – Ensure that you know your neighbors and have their contact details
  • Blow the Whistle – Purchase a police whistle and use it in an emergency
  • Repair/maintain alarm system – Ensure that the alarm system works at all times
  • Memorise SAPS and security company numbers – It is important residents know their emergency numbers in case of an emergency.
Capt Vermaak added that the street captains and street Whatsapp groups must be made aware of what was going on in the area and recommended that street captains also be added to the street groups around them in order to be aware of what was happening at all times.
